Warmth of Words - A Writers Retreat

We are all fueled to write due to different reasons; our personalities and choices vary as a consequence of our distinct lifestyle and atmosphere. As writers who are diverse in our attributes and preferences, we have variable diction – our words define us, the way we write, our discourse. It all contributes to our persona as an author; words have immense power and significance – to underestimate the impact of words is a fool’s move.
This winter, while we’re all warmed up in our blankets with steaming beverages by our side, we could give some time to process and think about our ways; our writing style, our choice of words and our techniques. Reflecting on ourselves is a healthy practice when it comes to practical life; implicating it in our writing will surely benefit us and enhance our creativity, our skill and our love for our craft.
“There is no good and evil, there is only power and those too weak to seek it.” As He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named stated. Similarly, there is no good or bad when it comes to your choice of words; it all depends upon your cognitive strength – whether you possess the skill to create an impact with your words or not. ‘Weakness’ should not be interpreted as a negative term as it is implied – it is wise to see things from multiple angles and then, come to a conclusion.
Therefore, our goal for this season is to reflect on our words and think.
